My passion is life-drawing. All the artwork in this gallery are original drawings from live models. Most are done in charcoal on good grade paper (120grs - 260grs). For the most part they are rather large, 50cm X 70cm or 19.7" X 27.5" being the largest.
In this gallery are my more finished & realistic drawings. My quick sketches are in the "Linear Drawings" Gallery, which capture the movement (5 to 10 minutes).

The size can vary but they're often done on an excellent quality A4 paper.

Some of my drawings are done in a matter of 5 or 10 minutes. They capture the movement & mood of the models.
Some of these are my favorite drawings as I've always wanted to accomplish just that!!!
In addition, I've also cut some drawings to put colored paper backgrounds. Any of the linear drawings can be done this way.
If these interest you, any color paper could used!

Drawing men in the nude is a fairly new challenge for me, but one that I truly enjoy doing! I find it very different from drawing women. The lines & shadows are stronger & more angular. The more I continue to try to capture the masculine body in drawings, the more my style seems to change. I will continue to build up a portfolio of "Men in the Nude" as time goes by.

There are certain of my drawings which either have a very special meaning for me or I simply can't part with...yet!
Perhaps that will change one day as I continue to draw & hopefully grow. Or possibly I'll make posters of them.

Biography
I'm from New York & have been living in Paris for more than 25 years.
In N.Y. I was a fashion illustrator, graduating from Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) & then working for many fashion companies, illustrating the latest trends. My longest & favorite job was for Tobé Associates, a bible in the fashion industry. I also freelanced for some of the top fashion houses.
When I came to Paris, it became difficult to find work in this field as my style of drawing was very American (detailed) & didn't conform to the free image of what the French appreciate. I understood this concept and found that even though I couldn't do this myself at that time, I was able to teach it! So that's what I did for several years at a now closed fashion school called Fashion Forum.
I discovered that I truly loved teaching & besides giving private drawing lessons, which I still do, I also taught English in major French companies. I really enjoyed doing this but with my retirement, I returned to my real passion which is drawing...especially nudes.
My aim is to become freer in my style & to develop my use of color which I hope you will see as time goes by!
