Painting is a family affair: Josine is the daughter of the Dutch painter Joseph Jansen and Netty Van t' Hoff, designer of historical costumes. Born in 1966 in Rotterdam, she lived in Antwerp in Belgium then in Autoire in the south-west of France. After preparatory studies at the Fine Arts and advertising design in Antwerp, she devoted herself to her second passion: travel.

She began her professional career in tourism by creating a travel agency in Thailand. Back in France, she became a national tour guide for an American travel agency, then a guide for stays organized in many countries. She sketches pretty travel diaries in order to immortalize through her illustrations the magnificent places visited and the beautiful human encounters. When she is back in her house in Padirac, she paints and draws with her father using different techniques, oil, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pencils, pastel,...

The health situation in 2020 forces her to stay at home but allows her to spend time in her studio. She then made the choice to devote herself to the portrait of children from all continents. She seeks from photos to restore emotions in order to bring the spectator to perceive the reflection of the soul which emerges in the gaze. We can then imagine the story of each, their meeting...
