Biography
I paint what is inside me. My fears and my isolation. My unease with society. Whether it is a dark abstract, or an expressionist-influenced face, what I paint is what I feel and what others like me feel. We don't quite belong anywhere, but we exist everywhere.

JD Johnson, artist
My art has been heavily influenced by the German Expressionist movement. I love color, texture boldness. I strive to convey emotion in my art, whether it is figurative, representational or a rare abstract. I was a former modern dancer who rediscovered visual art due to an injury that has prevented me from continuing to dance.
