I hope Covid-19 is over soon, but I want to remember these years and that we as humans can make it if we stand together. Covid-19 shaped my art, and my life. And I want to share that optimism.
Pop Artist Andy Warhol was famous for his replications. He is a huge inspiration to me. But we live in a new age, replicating became different. I love the manual technique of collage, of glueing things together.
I chose my motifs from social media, the internet or from newspapers and magazines. Than I frame them differently, I zoom, I change the colours digitally and print them in many new colours.
Than I take a canvas or a wooden frame and glue different layers, use spray paint or acrylic paint, somethimes tape or other glue. And often in the end I apply epoxy resin. I am inspired by the art in the streets, often illegal, in subway stations, under bridges or graffiti. I want to bring this art to our houses and appartments.
IMPORTANT: None of my artwork is perfect, they are organic, there are drops of paint, tears in the paper, waves, glue residues. They are original!

ART INSPIRATION: Jerome's art is about capturing the essence, spirit, and energy of the world around him. Bringing it together, reflecting, mixing.
His main mean is mixed-arts / collage. He loves to divide and unite, giving things a new angle by fragmenting or assembling them.
Many of Jerome's paintings are distinguished by giving them a new twist, by taking new focusses, new perspectiuves, adding frames or colours.
He also is very interested in the expressive power of color and how certain colors can trigger different emotions.
ART COMMISSIONS: Jerome Cholet is available for Art Commissions.
DISCLAIMER: All of Jerome's artwork is hand made, so they have ripples, blobs, drops of paint, wrinkles, and bumps. For him art is organic, it arises from natural materials, it changes over time. He does not like clinically clean art, he likes change, maturation and decline. All three are part of life and his art.
