Art image bankJean-Marie Gitard, alias Mr Strange, is a contemporary French artist. After a rather classical approach as a visual artist, Mr Strange, largely inspired by surrealism, gradually moved away from classical painting to take an interest in polymorphous forms, mixing painting and sculpture. The artist handles surrealism with a certain derision, and proposes a personal reflection on the world, sometimes poetic, sometimes caustic but always sharp.
His artistic evolution leads him to appropriate the digital medium and create what he calls his photo manipulations. Hybridization, logic of the absurd, subversion, are the doors of entry of choice of the artist. From birth to death, from the individual to society, he spares no one.
The works of Mr Strange are printed in Fine Art quality on Hanhemühle paper, canvas or Alu Dibond (delivered with a certificate of authenticity). The works are reproduced at 30 copies for the serigraphs on paper and 10 copies for the prints on canvas and Alu Dibond. All are signed and numbered by hand.
Some of his original works are produced in oil as a result of a partnership with Bruce Fan, a painter friend of the artist who strives to reproduce the pieces as accurately as possible.
