タイヤル・オズカンは1962年にトルコで生まれ、1983年にアンカラ・ガジ大学美術学部を卒業しました。1976年から1989年にかけて初期の作品を発表し始めました。1989年にオズカンは米国に移住し、そこでグラフィックとテキスタイルデザインで成功したキャリアをスタートさせ、1989年から2018年にかけてトミーヒルフィガー、ポロラルフローレン、クリスチャンディオール、ジョーボクサー、ティファニー、マヴィジーンズなど、有名ブランドで働きました。
同時に、オズカンは漫画への情熱を追求しました。彼の長期連載漫画「Caveman」は、1993 年にHeavy Metal誌でデビューし、今日まで出版され続けています。彼の最初のCaveman の本は、1997 年に NBM から出版されました。1994 年、オズカンは作家のジョエル ローズと映画監督のエイモス ポーと共同で、Paradox/DC Comics のミステリー グラフィック ノベル「La Pacifica 」(282 ページ) を制作しました。また、Vertigo/DC の「The Dreaming」の 4 号をインクで描き、Paradox の「The Big Book Of...」コレクションに寄稿しました。
