Chantal MARTIN, artiste autodidacte. Enfant, le dessin est sa grande passion. Adolescente, elle commence à peindre quand son père lui offre une boite de couleurs à l'huile.
Après une pause de 25 ans, elle reprend les pinceaux en 2014 lorsque les enfants ont grandi et quitté le nid familial. Depuis, c'est une évidence, l'envie de peindre est toujours présente....
Au début, son style est plutôt figuratif, puis peu à peu elle expérimente des fonds abstraits avec des ajouts de matières : pigments, mortier sable, collages, en recherche de nouveaux effets. Les couleurs sont devenues plus vives, les sujets plus gais et plus légers.
Première exposition et première vente en 2014 puis de nombreuses expositions collectives et personnelles dans le GARD et la LOZERE.
2019 : 1er PRIX ACRYLIQUE SALON GRIFFE D'ARTS (ST GENIES DE MALGOIRES - 30)
