On a country road, a 1962 Renault Floride convertible. The car is white, with a man at the wheel. It's summer. The light comes from the left edge of the picture. The impression of speed is conveyed against a background of sketched trees. Behind, a cloudless blue sky. In the foreground, the grassy edge of the road marks the lower edge of the canvas.

Jean Marie Pen was born in 1959 and began painting on canvas in 1994, with his earliest works being black and white portraits with a hint of blue. Then came still lifes and landscapes, one by one, with a palette that was enriched by numerous tones. Only in oil, with no special influences other than a few Northern European artists and their bright masterpieces.
