Two paintings, acrylic on canvas, 70x70. Originally representing the Jungian psychological archetypes of the anima/female principle and animus/male principle, each shows a silhouette of a person holding the power of authenticity in their hands, their most valuable resource. It casts a safety aura around them. Later in my life, I made a reference to astrological symbolism, where the duo can be viewed as the 2021 Jupiter-Saturn conjunction, that happens roughly every 20 years, exploring how freedom of authenticity can only be sustained in the safety of personal boundaries.

"ONE OF MY GENES" is another reading of the modern abbreviation saying "Oh[...]
OMG! : ONE OF MY GENES
"ONE OF MY GENES" is another reading of the modern abbreviation saying "Oh My God ". Twelve archetypal images genetically inherited in the history of mankind and in my personal history. Images deeply embedded in the collective unconscious. All have shadow and light. If the focus is on the shadow archetypes are based on dependencies on fear and desire, where diversion from the center of the inner being is present. However, light stands out only in darkness. There must be contrast, through which plus can become clearly distinguished from minus. The gift that one gets from studying the archetypes is increased awareness and illumination of the whole personality. According to the teachings of Jung, his disciple Miss Caroline and my observations, I wrote short notes to each picture about what it means to me from a psychological perspective.
