À l’âge de 16 ans, j’ai décidé de devenir artiste plastique. Ce n’était pas une décision très difficile à prendre puisque ma famille a toujours eu une relation étroite avec la peinture et l’art.
Lorsque j’ai commencé cette voie, je me suis fixé comme objectif fondamental que mon art soit toujours lié à une quête incessante pour transmettre et partager un message positif, à travers des images quotidiennes de mon environnement et de mon époque.
Ma première étape pour atteindre cet objectif a été d’apprendre la technique, réalisant que sans une bonne technique comme base, il me serait impossible de transmettre avec précision tout ce que je voulais créer. C’est ainsi que, pendant plus de 30 ans, j’ai appris et pratiqué les différentes techniques de l’art classique.
Après mon départ du Venezuela, mon pays d’origine, en 2015 vers ma nouvelle vie en France, mon art a été transformé par ce nouveau pays, sa culture, son histoire et sa société entraînant un profond renouvellement dans ma façon de créer.
Aujourd’hui, j’ai commencé une nouvelle série d’œuvres, qui prend la femme comme point d’investigation, cherchant à comprendre sa force, sa psychologie et le rôle qu’elle joue dans cette époque. J’essaie de créer une nouvelle icône universelle, qui décrit notre mode de vie dans une grande ville et dans laquelle nous pouvons tous nous reconnaître.
