Albert Cruells, nato nel 1947 in Spagna, è un artista contemporaneo la cui prima infanzia è stata plasmata dal mondo naturale e dall'influenza creativa della sua famiglia: suo padre era un insegnante di pianoforte e sua madre una scrittrice. Il suo percorso artistico è iniziato insolitamente presto, con la sua prima mostra tenutasi all'età di sette anni nella macelleria del nonno.
A diciotto anni, Cruells si trasferì a Barcellona per studiare Architettura, immergendosi nella scena artistica moderna della città. Trovò ispirazione anche a Cadaqués, dove espose spesso il suo lavoro in evoluzione. La sua arte ottenne un riconoscimento internazionale, che portò alla pubblicazione del suo primo libro.
La Fondazione Vila Casas ha curato il suo lavoro e la Fondazione Antonio Saura lo ha onorato con una mostra antologica e un libro esaustivo sulla sua carriera. Nonostante il successo, Cruells rimane profondamente legato alle sue radici, continuando a lavorare con la stessa passione e dedizione che aveva da bambino con un pennello.
