François Flachet a été auteur de fictions pour la télévision. Il a toujours voulu visualiser les scènes qu'il écrivait, il les dessinait, puis les colorisait dans des petits story-boards... Très vite est venue la nécessité de passer à des formats plus grands, de tester d'autres matières comme l'huile qui permet de revenir sur sa peinture. Il peint aujourd'hui avec beaucoup plus d'acharnement en y consacrant une grande partie de son temps. Son activité de scénariste l'amène souvent à créer une histoire dans chacun de ses tableaux, parfois emprunt d'une certaine nostalgie. On la retrouve dans l'étude de ces vieux plongeoirs qu'il affectionne tout particulièrement. Il aime l'atmosphère des plages désertes, quand il ne reste de traces humaines qu'un vieux plongeoir qui attend le retour des enfants...
Eugène Boudin a baigné son enfance mais il a toujours trouvé qu'il y avait un peu de trop de monde sur ses plages...
