Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. Lady Godiva Abstract Painting
About Lady Godiva
Lady Godiva is said to have taken place in the 11th century, during the Anglo-Saxon period in England. At this time, England was under the rule of a powerful nobleman named Leofric, Earl of Mercia, and his wife, Lady Godiva. The legend centers around a pivotal moment when Lady Godiva challenged her husband's oppressive taxation policies.
The heart of the Lady Godiva legend lies in her selfless act of protest against her husband's taxing demands on the people of Coventry. Disturbed by the suffering of the common folk due to these heavy taxes, Lady Godiva implored her husband to reconsider. When her pleas fell on deaf ears, she devised a daring plan to capture his attention and inspire change.
Legend has it that Lady Godiva made a solemn promise: she would ride through the streets of Coventry unclothed, with only her long hair to cover her, if her husband would lift the oppressive taxes. Moved by her courage and determination, Leofric eventually agreed to her request.
On a fateful day, Lady Godiva embarked on her ride through the streets of Coventry, her hair cascading down her back, providing a modest veil of privacy. The townspeople, honoring her bravery, refrained from watching as she rode by. It is said that one person, a tailor named Tom, could not resist the urge to peek, and he was subsequently blinded. This event became known as "Peeping Tom."
Lady Godiva's bold gesture of riding through the streets served as a powerful symbol of her commitment to the well-being of her subjects. The act also demonstrated the lengths to which an individual could go to alleviate the suffering of the oppressed and bring about social change.
Lady Godiva's story has resonated through the centuries, embodying the qualities of compassion, courage, and empathy. Her legendary ride has been depicted in countless works of art, literature, and even modern interpretations. Lady Godiva's name has become synonymous with selflessness, and her story continues to inspire those who stand against injustice.
