Garance Grand-Leger est une artiste plurielle, designeuse et éditrice française et suisse née en 1993. Elle vit et travaille entre Genève et Lyon. Elle est actuellement en résidence aux ateliers Le Grand Large à Lyon ainsi que co-coordinatrice de la galerie LiveInYourHead à Genève.
Diplômée de l’ENSBA Lyon avec les félicitations du jury en 2019 ainsi que de plusieurs certificats techniques en design textile.
À travers la photographie, la performance, le texte, l’installation, et le design, Garance Grand-Leger invite les visiteur•se•s de son travail à faire un pas de côté. L’artiste raconte, panse, regarde et compose à partir de nos modes et lieux de vies une petite histoire des corps, des maux et des traces : contraints, collectifs, individuels, invisibles, puissant.
Profondément marquée par son lien avec les anciens, l’artiste — qui a grandi entouré de ses aïeux, eux-mêmes pationné·e·s de fleurs et d’histoires — est une passeuse, une autrice souterraine ancrée les mains dans les fleurs et les pieds sur terre. Sa pratique plurielle, déploie et compose images, mots, lectures, danses, vêtements, environnements, objets… pensés à l’échelle du corps et des mains, support de son univers poétique, porté sur le soin aux choses, aux autres, aux traces.
Elle a créé au printemps 2022 la maison d’édition incendie. Elle co-crée actuellement un lieu de vie mêlant jardin, atelier, résidence et bistrot nommé Rose Gâteaux (Chédigny, 37)
Exposée notamment au Frac Champagne-Ardennes à Reims, à NEF Gallery à Stockholm, à la Galerie Allen à Paris, à Jedna Dva Tři Gallery à Prague, à la Fondation Pernod-Ricard à Paris, à KlaraKiss Zipspace à Zurich, à l’Academiæ Biennale à Bolzano.
