Julio Quispe Virhuez, better known as Quispejo, is one of the most prolific plastic artists in Peru. He has painted thousands of works that are all over Peru and the world. Julio Quispe Virhuez, better known as Quispejo, is one of the most prolific plastic artists in Peru. He has painted thousands of works that are all over Peru and the world.
His theme has vindicated the Andean inhabitant who feeds the national customs. Although, Quispejo's work in the seventies and eighties was the great protagonist of the "reflectors" and of the art galleries; to this day hundreds of painters faithfully emulate his theme; but the artist is currently secretive, with a lower profile.

This particular painting was created especially for Easter 2012 and was exhibited in one of the most important galleries in downtown Lima, close to the cathedral where the trades were held for these celebrations.
