Some say the prohibition whiskey flowed through this little shack, once hidden in the mangroves off an obscure inlet well known to the runners from the nearby Bahamas. That's back in the day when Al Capone drove up and down our Federal Highway. Some say guns even shipped out from here to support the republican revolution on some green island far away.
But who can believe any of those Tiki Hut stories?
There is the true story though about the bank robber. The "alleged perpetrator" happily sitting at the bar holding court and buying rounds for everyone with this big paper bag full of money up on the bartop...all the while the sheriff's helicopter circling overhead. Get them to tell you that one. That's a good one.

American artist Lowell Fox was born in the states, and has lived and worked throughout Texas,
the South & Southwest, across much of Mexico and all across Canada coast to coast for many
years; supporting his family in the lumber industry and with his painting, shown in many
prestigious galleries, and by playing blues and jazz piano as well with bands in clubs, concerts,
on tours, recording sessions, t.v. and in a few just way too "colorful" dives, it's true. Lowell has
painted all his life, since a small child. He has given much to charities that he feels make a
real contribution. He lives with his wife, an author and educator, painting in the small fishing
town of Sebastian on Florida's Atlantic coast...a Florida resident since '91.
