The Constant Vigil (2020)
This drawing is done on hot pressed smooth acid free paper of 300gsm with an archival ink pen of 0.5mm and 1mm pen. The ink is fade proof and water proof, the paper is age resistant and won't yellow or fade over time.
My particular passion is the technical side of drawing. And in particular - pen and ink and graphite.
I love the overall monotone effect of graphite on paper, and as a medium, the complete 'flexibility' thereof. And yet... the black and white of pen and ink, and the state of this medium being totally 'inflexible' and rather "unforgivable", and strikingly opposite in colour from the paper fascinates me and challenges me even more. My pen and ink collection is created solely by using mainly pointillism, or stippling. There are no lines. Just dots. It takes an incredibly long time to do and as a pen and ink artist one needs a great deal of stamina and patience - but the final outcome is to a tremendous degree personal and extremely rewarding.
I also paint the odd monochromatic and color painting in oils and acrylic. I would say I am a very versatile artist. I like to swing between mediums all the time , and I keep constantly busy.
