Les mises en scènes et les scénarios sont de Nathalie FATON et les photographies de Jean-Paul FERMET.
Après une trentaine d’années de photographies dites « Humaniste », de photographies de témoignage, de reportage du monde dans lequel nous évoluons, Jean-Paul FERMET rencontre Nathalie FATON en janvier 2016 pour un travail photographique sur la notion de survie. Le duo FERMET & FATON est instantanément formé.
Nous travaillons depuis naturellement en totale collaboration et symbiose. Toutes les images sont depuis signées FERMET & FATON. On retrouve essentiellement et sur toutes les créations la présence de cette femme sublimée telle une héroïne de Comics ou de mythologie. Les images sont très souvent chargées de symbolique que le spectateur doit chercher et décoder. Aucun décor, aucun accessoire ne se trouve sur l’image par hasard.
Synthétiquement notre travail photographique se construit sous forme de séries et de narrations séquentielles. Pour la partie prises de vue, la démarche est proche de celle que l'on trouve dans le cinéma. Les images sont pensées avant le shooting. Elles sont en quelque sorte "storyboardées ». C'est-à-dire que tous éléments sont définis à l'avance, le lieu, les postures, les cadrages, les tenues et accessoires, l'éclairage, la focale etc. On ne veut surtout pas représenter la réalité mais créer un univers complètement personnel et amener les lecteurs à s'interroger.
Nous abordons dans notre travail des sujets parfois graves et tantôt plus légers ou décalés.
Nous avons déjà réalisé une centaine de séries. Nous avons auto édité plusieurs livres de photos.
