La peinture sur papier d’Eric Bourdon nous enjoint à considérer, avec Peter Osborne, le principe de l'inéliminabilité de la dimension esthétique de l'œuvre d'art comme la consécration historique ironique de l'échec patent du programme radical de l'art conceptuel « analytique » ou « pur », c'est-à-dire d'un art conceptuel absolument anti-esthétique. Un principe dont le pianiste soviétique Lazar Naoumovitch Berman, qui refusait de jouer la musique du compositeur polonais Frédéric Chopin mais se produisit en concert avec son fils Pavel dans la ville moderne et éclectique d’Oslo en 1990, se foutait par-dessus tout.

Eric Bourdon's painting on paper represents the starting point of a phantasmagorical journey through the invisible side of the modern and eclectic city of Oslo where Lazar Berman visibly performed in concert with his son Pavel in 1990. By crossing the limits of the living world, the protagonists in the artwork defy their fears and the darkness. This initiatory trip appears to be an actual rite of passage, scattered with physical hardship and spiritual questioning.

Note : original acrylic painting on extra strong drawing paper with grain Carte d'Art 340g by Sennelier (D340). The 20x20cm square of paper is glued to a piece of quality cardboard of the same dimensions. Total thickness : 3mm.
