The life path of Moscow artist Maria Zherdeva has been clear from the very beginning: surrounding, parents and teachers, noticing her talent, discovered an artist in Maria in her childhood. She participated in her first art exhibition at the age of eight.
A significant stage in the career of Maria Zherdeva was classes in the workshop of monumental graphic artist Vladimir Ilyushchenko (who was Aleksandr Deineka's student) in 1992 and after. It is also necessary to mention the valuable experience that Zherdeva received in the icon-painting workshop in the name of St. Alipy Pechersky under the leadership of restorer and icon painter Tikhomirova K.G. In 1995 - 1998 Maria worked as a personal copyist of famous master of Soviet caricature, artist Vasily Fomichev, who was a great Man from a bygone era. The extraordinary lines and strokes of the satirical graphic formed and honed the skills of young Maria.
The creators mentioned above made a huge contribution to the formation of Maria's world and her personality. Under their influence, her own style in painting arose. It is based on deep knowledge and skill, on thoughts about the essence of true art, on hard work.
A unique type of art by Maria Zherdeva is her high reliefs in the author's mixed technique. She has been engaged in this type of sculpture since 1993. In the work she uses wood, papier-mâché. Wood and paper are artist's favorite materials. Maria prefers tempera, which is lively and supple.
Maria Zherdeva is natural in the creative process. She does not seek inspiration and ideas from outside. The artist plays on the strings of souls, and her own soul is like a bare nerve. So any conscious ideological analysis of the artistic process when creating a high relief is unacceptable.
Many of Maria's reliefs and paintings are in private collections and galleries in Russia, France, Holland, USA, Ireland, etc.
