Epagneul Breton courant (2005) Painting by Isabelle Mériot

Born in 1970, in Nîmes, France, Isabelle Mériot always had a special bond with animals.
The 4th of July 2001 in the morning, just before waking up, she dreamed of "how-to-do" to paint animals.
Since that, completly self-taught, without questions, she paints. Leaning on pictures to reach the anatomical accuracy she seeks, she is keen on big canvas, pan out and zoom in.
Since 2018 she explores a path of plastic and sculptural artistry by sculpting antlers and horns out of her paintings.
She paints on every type of medium, with a partialness for wood.
