Yves Lavallette was born in 1960 in Nevers and he is a photographer, director and artistic director. In the 1980s, he moved to Paris, where his work was published by magazines such as Zoom and Liberation, paving the way for continued collaboration with prestigious magazines in France and abroad, such as VOGUE, HARPER'S BAZAAR, L'OFFICIEL, PICTURED, MAX, ELLE, MARIE CLAIRE, JALOUSE, SOON, WEST EAST, TIEMPO, TL MAGAZINE...
His personal projects are exhibited and are part of various national and international collections in institutions such as the National Center of Photography, the National Library of France, the Musée de l'Elysée in Lausanne, and the Center International de l'Estampe in Villeurbanne. It is also published in specialized journals such as VIS a VIS International and DADA.
In addition to his work as a photographer, Yves Lavallette makes many films. He is the winner of the 2000 prizes organized by the Ministry of Culture in France. In September 2000, a film on his large format work was made and broadcast on France 3.
In 2004, an exhibition was devoted to his work at the Aéroport de Paris. In 2005, he produced and published with VILO editions the book "ASIAN", produced in China and Tibet.
Between 2006 and 2014, the television channel Fashion TV produced and broadcast several films about his work. In 2013, 2014 and 2015, he was selected among many world famous photographers and exhibited at the MERCEDES BENZ Fashion Week in Malta.
In 2015, he is the author of the "NEVERLAND" exhibition and is guest of honor at the festival of contemporary photography in Burgundy. He also presents the exhibition "THE REFLECTED EYE" in New York from May to July 2015, accompanied by the release of the eponymous book.
In 2018, he traveled to Canada and the United States to work on the production of the feature film project "Destinée Manifeste", of which he is the author and which is in development.
In May 2019, he exhibited in Malta, followed by another exhibition in October 2020 in Burgundy as part of the EXPOLAROID world exhibition.
