“Avatar” series was inspired by Albert Einstein’s quote: “A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”
This series often use pure fresh color as background, and main body is set up by a slightly messy brushstrokes, bundled wrapped statue-like character blocks, to reveal a unique sense of composition. For the painting language part, the color and brush strokes have great performance. So in the color part, I tend to extract "beautiful colors" from the life and then do a little processing. Line strokes have their freedom, expression with curves presenting the main body, which is in contrast with the flat background to maximize the visual impact.
