During my travels to Macedonia July of 2008 I saw a folk dance festival in the town of Kicivo. It was fascinating how I could hear and feel the power of war and tears the same time that I could feel the power of youth and beauty.
As a result I could only paint folk dancers for the past year and a half. I have only caught this power in a couple of paintings the rest became more of a focus on the movement of a dancer.

Biography
I was born on May 27th 1986 in Santa Ana, California. After graduating from the North Carolina School of the arts in Winston-Salem in 2005, I became a resident artist at Asolare Fine Arts Foundation located in Lexington, North Carolina. During this time of my life I also participated in printmaking and glass-painting classes at Penland School of Craft located in the North Carolina Mountains. Since my graduation I exhibited in 9 traveling exhibitions, 8 group exhibitions, and 7 solo exhibitions. In January 2008 I had my first solo exhibition outside the state of North Carolina, this exhibition was held at the Peachtree Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Library across the street from the High Museum of art in Atlanta, Georgia. The summer of that year I attended my first art colony in Kicevo, Macedonia. As of August 13 this year I have been living in Subotica, Serbia where I hope to find new ideas and opportunities for my paintings.

14 painting made from shoe-polish on paper. These paintings where created during my residency at Asolare Fine Art Foundation. Besides the January 2008 exhibition at the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library of Atlanta, Georgia, these paintings where also exhibited in solo exhibition in the Seed gallery in October 2007 and March 2008. 5 of these paintings where also exhibited in the Asolare group show held in the RJR Gallery of the Sawtooth Center for Visual Arts, Winston-Salem, North Carolina in October 2007.
