This painting is a takeoff from a Roman statue that I saw on my visit to Rome. This painting is a takeoff from a Roman statue that I saw on my visit to Rome. The stature was standing in the same pose as this figure but I changed the face to make it look more like a modern woman. In the background I painted ghostly figures and a ghostly face that lines up behind her had. Is it a mask? If you look closely you can see human figures hidden into the drapery on her robe that she is wearing. Both of the two paintings I have ever painted from inspiration of Rome have these hidden figures in the drapery. Are they the spirits I felt from Rome? I don't know, you would have to ask an art critic.

I was born on May 27th 1986 in Santa Ana, California. After graduating from the North Carolina School of the arts in Winston-Salem in 2005, I became a resident artist at Asolare Fine Arts Foundation located in Lexington, North Carolina. During this time of my life I also participated in printmaking and glass-painting classes at Penland School of Craft located in the North Carolina Mountains. Since my graduation I exhibited in 9 traveling exhibitions, 8 group exhibitions, and 7 solo exhibitions. In January 2008 I had my first solo exhibition outside the state of North Carolina, this exhibition was held at the Peachtree Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Library across the street from the High Museum of art in Atlanta, Georgia. The summer of that year I attended my first art colony in Kicevo, Macedonia. As of August 13 this year I have been living in Subotica, Serbia where I hope to find new ideas and opportunities for my paintings.
