En exposant ses tatouages au regard de l’autre, on propose souvent une image de soi maîtrisée et que l’on estime plus valorisante, car assumée.
Pour tous les porteurs de tatouages, le mystère qui s’en dégage permet d’entrer en relation avec les autres. Jean-Baptiste en a fait l’expérience lorsqu’il s’est fait tatoué le bras, se faisant parfois arrêté dans la rue par les passants qui l’interrogeaient alors sur le sens de son tatouage.

Lorsqu’on choisit un endroit non dissimulé, comme l’avant-bras, on s’expose inconsciemment au contact. Au final que démontre-t-on ? Eveillant la curiosité, ce type de tatouage attire les questions. Parfois il fournit l’occasion de débuter un échange. Le tatouage sur le bras de Jean-Baptiste est finalement pour lui une manière d’exposer son histoire tout en la maîtrisant grâce à des messages codés… Longtemps rejeté et mal perçu, le tatouage évolue aujourd’hui à l’opposé de sa réputation, il est devenu un moyen d’exposer aux autres qui on est, mais surtout de le partager; Longtemps caché, victime d’aprioris négatifs, c’est aujourd’hui un appel lancé aux autres.

Drawing is a technique of visual representation on a flat support. The term "drawing" designates both the action of drawing, the resulting graphic work, and the shape of any object. It is also a representation on a surface of the shape (and possibly the light and shadow values) of an object or figure, rather than their color. There are a large number of drawing techniques: “Linear drawing” represents objects by their outlines, edges and some characteristic lines; beyond this limit, the drawing develops by representing the volume by shadows, often by means of hatching, incorporates colors, and joins, without clear transition, the painting.

Born in Marseille, I am a self-taught artist. Part of my apprenticeship nevertheless took place through meetings and exchanges with a few artists from the Rhône-Alpes region where we were living with my parents. During this period I did all kinds of experiments and learned several techniques, from oil painting to pastel and even modeling. Many attempts before finally returning a few years later to the techniques of my childhood: gouache, watercolor and mainly pencil.

My work is autobiographical, it is inspired by my daily life, my experiences, my questions; It is the reflection of these captured moments that remain frozen in my memory. Through my encounters, I sometimes become the vehicle for expressing the emotions of others that I try to transcribe as well as possible in my paintings. My works then become the fruit of sharing.

When the image is in memory, everything then consists of best transcribing the atmosphere that emanates from the moment: removing certain contours, interpreting the light to keep only the essentials. Because in the end all the challenge is there, to get as close as possible to the original emotion. A research that is based on elements that may seem contradictory: where my technique consists of a realistic rendering, or at least to transcribe a certain reality, it must express the impalpable.
