Vladimir Kolesnikov was born in 1954 in Moscow. The artist received his first skill lessons from his father, the remarkable sculptor Yuri Petrovich Kolesnikov, who worked with such famous architects as I. V. Zholtovsky and A.V. Shchusev. Together with him, he participated in the creation of large monuments installed in Ulyanovsk, Kazan, Vologda, and Volgograd.
Academician of the Russian Academy of arts (Department of sculpture, 2020), winner of competitions in monumental art. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR and Russia (1990). Member of the Moscow Union of artists (1995).
Vladimir's sculptures are represented in Museum and private collections in Russia (the Moscow Museum of modern art, the EMERCOM Museum, the Museum of the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation, the Sevastopol defense Museum and other museums) and many foreign collections (France, Germany, Italy, the USA and other countries).
Vladimir Kolesnikov created his own unique style. Deep spirituality, sharp metaphor, internal expression of images allow us to speak of him as one of the brightest representatives of modern Russian sculpture.
