Now an inspired resident of the beautiful state of Alaska,I was born in Covington, KY,raised in the western states of Colorado and Kansas. I graduated from Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale,CO in 1978. I married my high school sweetheart, gave birth to two wonderful children, and divorced the sweetheart in 1987. After the divorce I took my children and moved to Laramie, WY where I attended the University of Wyoming. When I enrolled at the University I declared my major in Journalism with an emphasis in Commercial Art. Raising two children alone, it didn't take long for me to realize I wasn't brave enough to raise my children with an education that depends largely on talent. After the first year I changed my major to Audiology and Speech Pathology. While attending the University I took many Art classes where I learned I am very talented.

When my children were grown and left home, I packed up my dog, Oscar, and headed toward Alaska. Since leaving Wyoming my style of pen and ink has been well recieved and has elbowed it's way into the art scene. My artwork has been exhibited at the Aspen Art Museum in Aspen, CO. two pieces of my work were chosen for the juried art show sponsored by the 2001 Fur Rondy. I also exhibited all of my artwork in a one woman show at the Side Street Cafe in Anchorage, AK. I sold five prints of my work during this show, and many limited edition prints since then.

Many people across the country have seen my work and have shown interest in purchasing my work since the unique style was developed in 1996. It was not until I moved to Alaska, became a "starving artist" and started promoting my work did I seriously consider selling my artwork. I sold my first limited edition print in November 2000.

It is now 2005 and I own/opperate a small Studio/Gallery in downtown Anchorage, AK. If you ever find yourself in Anchorage please come by to visit take a look at my Original Alaskan Artwork and I'll give you a free ArTori Alaskan Art magnet. You can find me at ArTori Creations in the Village Shops at Ship Creek Center, 333 W 4th Ave Rm#8.

Well,  it's the year 2020 now.  Things have changed of course.  I no longer have the Downtown Anchorage art studio.  As for many "starving artists" my art couldn't support ArTori Creations, brick and mortar, any longer. ArTori Creations still exists thru the Internet.
