why do I paint?

There is no single answer. Painting is about desire, a need to create with all the doubts that may come from it , a need to be constantly looking for something else  but in no way a feeling of certainty .

Pablo Picasso’s quotation gives a right idea of what I feel about creation on a general basis: You have got to take risks, let yourself go even if you have to start  it all again . Without taking any risks, the game is not worth playing.

I didn’t go to art school I am  a self-taught artist.

My work is based on working with matter: the chemistry of mixing different binders, using fabrics...

“Paint itself as matter in the literal meaning remains the driving force of my impulsion. Mixing colours, sticking pieces of fabrics together, overlapping coats of paint, quick sketching and scribbling lead me in an experimental way to suggest elements of reality.

Matter is the driving force of my impulsion.

There are also deep emotions in front of the works of Basquiat,..........De Stael and many others, who from time to time feed my inspiration. I feel deeply attached  to the Hispanic way of life,  I had a five -year  life experience in Spain,  I am  strongly  interested in  Pre-Colombian civilizations,  I made trips to South America and to Africa and  parietal art is a source of emotion for the intensity of its pigments, textures and colours. All these aspects undoubtedly  contribute to orientate my style of drawing and my  plastic approach.
