Laurent Guerin was born on December 26, 1954 to an engineer father and a loving mother; last twin of three children.

From his childhood spent in the sun of Tunisia and Algeria, he kept his taste for freedom and light at the age of fourteen, encouraged by his musician big brother, he created posters and pop posters; a drawing teacher notices him and convinces his parents to enroll him in evening classes at the fine arts school in Aix en Provence.
In France in the 1968s he spent the holidays following his big brother, member of the pop group ERGO SUM, on tours in recording studios; bohemian life and communities.

In 72 the death of his mother at the age of 41 caused the family to break up; he left school with his twin brother and moved to the south of France where he began his life as an artist with “geometric” paintings which quickly led him to exhibit in the major Parisian salons of the time. painters from the “space” group.

In 1980, at the age of 26, faced as a young man with a notoriety that he could not cope with, he moved away from the environment to venture with the young pianist Michel Pétrucciani to discover the United States and California where they met the jazzman Charles Lloyd in Big Sur Esalen Institute San Francisco Los Angeles land of counterculture and psychedelic playground.
On his return, profoundly transformed, he released his painting towards pop and non-conformist horizons which took him from Paris to New York then to Berlin where he discovered expressionism and new figuration. then he continues his quest in the underground by following a tribe of Bikers; From this experience he brought back the series of paintings: "tales of darkness"
Exhausted by this disorderly life, he then leaves for Reunion Island; the mildness of the climate and the beauty of the landscapes take him back to the dazzling memories of his childhood which he retraces through abstract pastels: “cosmic consciousness”
Then returned to Paris from 91 to 2000 where he became friends with Christine Angellini and Alain Guerrini, founders of the jazz school: the CIM of which he was president in 95. He then worked with the mother of his daughter Christine Bezault actress and author on theater sets as well as on art markets, her style then takes a figurative turn.

From 2001 to 2016, the meeting with a young entrepreneur from Haute Savoie Alain Baratay led him to develop a work of painting effects and trompe l'oeil.
2016 again returns to the south of France where he opens his gallery workshop.
