One summer morning whilst walking at a nearby lake, I was mesmerised by the soft dreamy tones of foggy mist over the water. I was particurly captivated by the changing hues of blues to rose pinks and violet colours which contrasted so deeply with the lush verdant growth surrounding me under the lush trees. On the ground, tiny little violet flowers pierced through like a motif on a woven carpet. The embroidered areas edging the scene embraces the scene and you are going to want to dream into the horizon, like I did.

This piece took two months from conception to finish and the embroidered paper is stretched onto canvas and then protected against and dust with archival mat varnish.

Acrylic

Ink

A strongly tinted liquid or paste that is used to mark paper or other printable materials. The design is done manually with a slab, feather, brush, or straightener.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Embroidery

Technique which consists in adding on a fabric a flat or relief pattern made of simple threads, sometimes by integrating materials such as sequins, pearls or even precious stones.
