Generally speaking I like colours, I like mixing colours and therefore I often choose to paint colourful scenes.
But occasionally I find myself favouring a particular colour, for example yellow, or violet, and especially green. It is as if someone spills a bucket of green paint inside my head. I look then for a motifs like this one - a large myrtle bush full of half ripened berries. It grows underneath big pine trees so it gets sunshine only partially. The leaves are light green and shiny but the bush itself is thick and shady and dark inside. And berries are just about to start changing from green into blue.
Drace, Peljesac peninsula, 2018, Oil on hardboard, 70 x 50 cm
