Sylvie de Lacotte started painting before taking up sculpture.
After attending the Martenot art school, she taught painting for many years.
She took classes of patina, trompe l'oeil, following the Van der Kelen method.
It was in Orleans that she took fine arts courses and met sculptors with whom she worked in the studio.
