Elle rêve, la jeune femme !
L’œil alangui, les bras pendants,
Elle rêve, elle entend son âme,
Son âme qui chante au dedans.
Tout l’orchestre de ses vingt ans,
Clavier d’or aux notes de flamme,
Lui dit une joyeuse gamme
Sur la clef d’amour du printemps…
La rêveuse leva la tête,
Puis la penchant sur son poète,
S’en fut, lui murmurant tout bas :
« Ami, je rêve ; ami, je pleure ;
« Ami, je songe que c’est l’heure…
« Et que mon coiffeur ne vient pas. »
Poème d'Alphonse Daudet.
Here is "the Dreamer", patinated in acrylic of different tones, iridescent gray green with a silver patina to enhance the hair and the lace printed support.
She dreams, the young woman!
The languid eye, the arms hanging,
She dreams, she hears her soul,
His soul singing inside.
The whole orchestra of his twenty years,
Golden keyboard with notes of flame,
Tells him a cheerful range
On the love key of spring...
The dreamer raised her head,
Then the leaning on his poet,
He went away, whispering to him quietly:
"Friend, I dream; friend, I cry;
"Friend, I think it's time...
"And that my hairdresser doesn't come."
Poème d'Alphonse Daudet.

Sylvie Bourely is a contemporary French sculptor. The female body has always inspired her, and studies in the field of fashion have sharpened her sense of observation, proportions and rigor. In her latest series of sculptures she is entirely dedicated to the production of female nudes mainly made of sandstone with white extrafine chamotte.
For the artist working the clay is like awakening the creative energy, embodied by the soul of the feminine. When she touches the clay, at that moment she enters into connection with it: it then allows her to release from its flesh the feminine content contained. The sculpture, once completed, comes to life, exuding the emotion that everyone sees it can feel according to their own experience.
Sylvie Bourely was born in 1960, in France.
