Passionate about materials, both charcoal and watercolor, he often mistreats paper, opens the whites, washes and sponges the color as Constable did.It was not always so, leaving the St Luc Institute in Brussels, he began a career as a hyperrealist illustrator in 1980.Then, tired of this painstaking work, he turned professionally to photo editing on the computer and simultaneously switched to a more relaxed style of painting.Initially, influenced by the surrealism of Magritte, he looked at Hans Bellmer, Bacon, Fernand Khnopff, Wyeth and many others.Since 1985, he has participated in around fifty personal or group exhibitions.
