Description

This colorful abstract fall landscape was created by spreading some left over paint from my pallet onto some paper on my work table then using mat board to take a couple direct prints. I really liked the mix of colors in the resulting image. The reds and yellows and mottled coloring reminded me of the colorful foliage in the fall. I took some closeups of the painting and did some digital editing and painting to create this version (I do have others from this project). In this painting, I thought the foreground colors looked like some reflections of the autumn colors, so I added a shoreline so the foreground could be a lake, river or pond with the forest colors reflected. This scene could be just about anywhere with deciduous trees that produce such colorful autumn displays - from the west with the beautiful yellow aspens (Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, Idaho, and others) or many states in the east (the mountains of North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia) or on up the Appalachian range and into Vermont, New Hampshire and New York).

I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains.
