Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. It could also refer to a prototype or a model from which other works can be made. Each work bears great similarities to the original.

Steve Doan est un artiste peintre talentueux, mais également graphic designer, illustrateur, directeur artistique, photographe, réalisateur et musicien. En tant que "globetrotter", en commençant par avoir passé son enfance en Afrique, et vécu ensuite dans différents endroits en Europe, puis les Etats-Unis, l'Asie, où il y travaille, crée, aime, vis, et s'installe pour un bon moment à Bruxelles, ensuite au Texas et s'installe finalement dans le sud de la France à Montpellier, endroit où il crée la collection Pop-Art.

Steve Doan a étudié à l'université Stephen F. Austin University au Texas, dont il est originaire, et ensuite à l'école d'art de New York : The School of Visual Arts (New York City).

About...

Besides being a gifted painter, Steve Doan is also a graphic designer, an illustrator, an art director, a photographer, a film maker, and a musician. And a globetrotter, who, after having been brought up in Africa and having extensively travelled in Europe, America and Asia, where he worked, lived and loved, has settled in Brussels for a while, in Texas, and finely in Montpellier, France . He recreates his exciting past with abstract canvases that capture the memories of these lands and the emotions felt during his various encounters. The vibrancy and vitality of these colourful climes and of his multifarious experiences live on in his art, expressed in strong graphic form and rich hues, and in which one also clearly detects an all-pervasive musicality.
