Portrait of Lady Jane Grey who was Queen of England for nine days in 1553. She was the granddaughter of Henry VIII's sister Mary and was the appointed heir of his young son, King Edward VI. She was deposed and later executed by the Catholic Queen "Bloody" Mary. She was a grand-niece of my 11th great grandmother Lady Cecily Grey, wife of the third Baron Dudley and great grandmother of my 8th great grandfather Thomas Dudley, second governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. No definite portrait or description of her exists. I based my picture on a portrait and a miniature that is probably of her.
