Toufik Sounni, autodidacte ; à part des brefs passages à des Ateliers de grands peintres polonais, en Pologne et en France. Né le 26 décembre 1949 à Casablanca. Mon école de BEAUX-ARTS a commencé quand j’avais l’âge de 9-10 ans en contemplant, observant, et dessinant des personnages et des scènes de tous les jours et de l’entourage ainsi que le coloriage et la gouache ont développé mon instinct de l’harmonie des couleurs. A ces jeux d’enfant, j’ai découvert l’intuition des formes et des réflexions qui se dissimulent dans ces scènes de tous les jours et de la vie, un peu comme ces nuages metteurs en scènes perpétuels de silhouettes de l’infini.
Je me suis intéressé à une multitude de choses avant de vraiment commencer à peindre en 1990 et c’est cette année là ou j’ai commencé mais à l’heure actuelle je n’ai pas encore fini. Je ne cesse de penser que les modes picturales, c’est passager, et que la grande vérité humaine restera.

Je ne suis jamais agressif plutôt subjectif et pour moi c’est fondamental de dessiner avec mon esprit.

L’année 1969, le destin m’appela pour me déraciner de mon pays natal, ma culture et ma famille Je m’installais à Stockholm où j’ai étudié et travaillé jusqu’en 1990.
Le déracinement ne fut pas vain mais au contraire très enrichissant.
Le destin de nouveau a appelé, la vie à Tourtour et à Nice commencèrent début 1991, ce coin du monde dont l’inspiration à la création est quasiment omniprésente.
Tourtourain par adoption depuis 1986.

A self-taught artist,born in Morroco in 1949. Lived
many years in Sweden and since 1992 I live in the
south of France.

I try to develop an original style, using both
acrylic and oil paints on canvas.I also make " Collage " and oil pastel and pencil sketches .

My art is an expression of my reflexions of my personal journey through life and my thematic and style are very liberal and always subjective whith my visual confrontation which requires reflection.
I am and will remain an objective dreamer.

I hope you will like and enjoy my paintings and my spirits.
