SOTIRIOS PANAILIDIS
ICONOGRAPHER

Born in Katerini, Pieria on December 20th , 1973 where he has completed his education. He resides and works in Katerini.

EDUCATION BACKGROUND
1991 graduated from the Lyceum in Katerini after specializing in Applied Arts.
1992 as the best student from the County of Pieria got the scholarship to attended courses of specialization in Graphics and Applied Arts in Thessaloniki.
1992 he left for the Holy Mountain where he attended courses of iconography for two years, by father Arsenius (kellion St. Nicholas Burazery) and father Kallistos Polatidis (kellion Saint Metrophanous Kaspala)

Team exhibitions:
Every year, since 1989 participating at the exhibitions organized by the Association of Fine Arts’ Artists of Pieria in Katerini, as well as in other team exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
- Since 1996 to this day professor of iconography at the Cultural Centre of Mitroploy of Katerini and Platamona
- Professor of iconography in the Local School O.A.E.D. for two years (1999-2001)

- During his studies, he has participated in churches iconography in different cities (Larisa, Thessaloniki, Serres, Kozani, Athens, Dion)
- Ionography of narthex in the church of St. Dimitrios in the military camp "Palaska", Skaramaga Attica (1994)
- 1998-1999 Iconography of the Holy Step in the cell of St. Nikolaos "Barbera" , Karies Holy Maintain.
- 1999-2000 Iconography in the church Virgin Mary "Gerontissas" in Marathousa Halkidikis
- 1999-2000 Iconography in the church the Assumption of Virgin Mary in Ellinokastro Karditsa.
- 1999-2000 Iconography in the chapel of St. Cristopher, Bus Station Pieria, Katerini.
- 2000-2001 Iconography in the chapel of St. Kiriakis (house Emm. Perrou), Katerini
- 1999-2001 Iconography in the church of St. George Mesoropi Kavala
- 1999- (continuing) Iconography in the church Presentation of Virgin Mary of the homonymous Monastery in Asko of Thessaloniki
- 1997 until today he has been painting wall paintings and portable icons in the church of Pantanasa Katerini
- 2001 undertook and continue iconography of the historical church of St. E Katerini, on the invitation of Metropolite of Kitrous and Katerinis Agathonikos.
