Елена Мартенс родилась в г. Екатеринбурге. С детства занималась в изостудиях и брала частные уроки рисунка и живописи. Закончила Екатеринбургское художественное училище по специальности ювелир. С 1992 года живёт в г.Ростове-на-Дону. С 2005г. полностью посвятила себя живописи. Работает в разных стилях и направлениях, но предпочитает импрессионизм. Её палитра - это чистые, открытые цвета, иногда даже агрессивные (если этого требует сюжет), и гармония контрастов в "цветной вакханалии". В работе использует широкую кисть и мастихин. Любимая тема - живописные причалы Европейских городов с многочисленными стоянками яхт и маленькие городки с неповторимой архитектурой. Так же излюбленной темой её полотен является женский образ и сценки в стиле "Куртуазный маньеризм". В основном картины выставляются в галереях г.Ростова-на-Дону и находятся в частных коллекциях России, Германии, Дании, , Норвегии, Бельгии, Франции, Италии, США.
