Le choix du noir et blanc vient ici appuyer le contraste déjà marqué par l'opulence du panorama, également remarquable au travers du rapport de taille entre les éléments qui construisent la photo : la mer et la montagne, l'eau et la roche, la nature et l'humain... Les deux personnes au premier plan, puis la mer, puis le rocher, puis la montagne autorisent un équilibre hiérarchisé, progressif et harmonieux dans la composition de l'image.
