Sara Amato-Gentric is a contemporary award-winning French sculptor. Her work with curves and volumes illustrates limitless variants of passionate dialogue by finding a balance between abstract and figurative. She mainly carves blocks of sandstone using various wooden tools. The material is never shaped, it remains raw after polishing and then takes on this singular, soft and grainy aspect comparable to the grain of skin.
Sara Amato-Gentric was born in 1976, in Lorient, France. She has exhibited her works nationally, as well as internationally in Innsbrück, Barcelona, Padua, Florence, Alta Badia, Copenhagen, in Dubai at World Art Dubai fair. Her sculpture “Le Baiser” was selected to be exhibited in 2019 at the Grand Palais at the Salon des Artistes Français and she was awarded the gold medal at the 19th Salon of the Esart Gallery in Barcelona, and was a finalist for The Boston Biennale in 2018. Sara Amato-Gentric is a member of Sculpteurs de Bretagne.
