Colour and happiness … Irina Samobrod, young Ukrainian artist living in France, trained in several schools of Art, having evolved in the environment of the fashion and the styling, holds as motives of her work significant images … By mixing in her works - and in a merry confusion - objects of the everyday life, the heroes of comic strips, characters of every day, texts and extracts of advertising, we are tried to classify her work in the Pop Art with all that it expresses of popular symbols.



To paint is, for Irina, the opportunity to tell sometimes absurd but never innocent stories …Drawing up portraits or by parodying famous images, the explosion of the forms and the intrigue, the chaotic aspect of the decor, the mixture of the painting, of graphics and a little bit anachronistic graffiti, the obsessional multiplication of details or sensual or ambiguous situations ….all that, by feigning the childishness, does not contribute to insert an order into the world or the society… but rather shows the extravagance, the excesses and the futility …
