Petit historique:
Jean-Yves Saint Lezer, a contemporary French artist, embarked on his artistic journey from a tender age, initially expressing his creativity through pencil drawings. The spark ignited during his school days, where he vividly recalls sketching a sailboat (a corvette) that adorned the cover of his notebooks. His artistic endeavors expanded as he repeatedly drew and diversified into landscapes, still lifes, and various subjects.
Life took its course, and Jean-Yves Saint Lezer pursued a career until retirement, putting his artistic passion on hold. With the luxury of time in retirement, he rekindled his love for painting, primarily focusing on landscapes and still lifes. His creations are characterized by a unique and pure artistic vision, reflecting his personal interpretations.
In his artistic practice, Jean-Yves draws inspiration from renowned painters like Bill Alexander and Bob Ross, both known for their mastery of the wet-on-wet technique. While adhering to this technique, Jean-Yves goes beyond, combining multiple artistic approaches to diversify his style. His paintings stand as a testament to the harmonious fusion of influences, resulting in a body of work that is uniquely his own.
As Jean-Yves Saint Lezer continues to explore and experiment with various techniques, his art resonates with a genuine passion for creation. Retired but invigorated by the opportunity to pursue his artistic calling, he brings a fresh perspective to the canvas, creating pieces that reflect not only his skill but also the joy derived from the process of artistic expression.
