The strong iridescent blue colour of the wings stand strikingly against the light tones of the sky and clouds, making the angel the focus as it moves towards the stars above the clouds. Moreover, the overall tones of the background allows a sense of lightness as the angel moves upward. Of course, with this type of artistic composition, it is for each individual to draw a deeper personal significance.

This stunning butterfly is a blue Morpho from Costa Rica.

Part of the Angel Wings series.

I am a Forensic Anthropologist gone artist, wanting to submerge myself into the beauty of life. Taking this turn I started exploring mixed media artwork by combining traditional watercolour painting, digital painting in all mediums and butterfly photography for montage and stencilling applied to different genres.

Why butterflies? They represent many interpretations including happiness, re-birth and hope; they can be regarded as the positive energies and renewal to be sought within ourselves, even during the most trying times of our lives.

I am a self taught artist, winning various awards which are amazing experiences as I walk in this new path. And definitely art has provided me with a positive energy so far removed from the field of forensics.
