Ronald Martinez is an author-photographer born February 28, 1978 in Annecy. For twenty years, he has never ceased to confront light and its infinite nuances, while developing his eye as a photographer. It is this constant and demanding attention that led him to create his Nus Divins, a series of inspired works in which the artist literally succeeded in painting light.
Possessing an exacerbated sensitivity to feminine beauty, Ronald has pursued throughout his career a research work on female nudes. In 2009, an exhibition of his nudes in black and white marked the public's first confrontation with the way he looked at the beauty of bodies. Between 2011 and 2012, he began to work on the technique of chiaroscuro, drawing inspiration from the pictorial innovations of the great masters of the Renaissance. The gallerist Maurizio Nobile selects three of these shots for his Golden Triangle gallery and invites him to continue his research in his photo studio in Bologna. Ronald took twelve new shots there and, aware of the aesthetic strength released by his photographic paintings, he entrusted the development to Master Choï, Helmut Newton's printer.
His works were put on the art market in 2013 on the occasion of the Arte Fiera Off and met with immediate success. From 2013 to 2015, the Parisian and Italian public discovered his first series entitled Nus Divins: Tribute to Italian Painting, on the occasion of several exhibitions at the Maurizio Nobile Gallery and the Europe Gallery. The exhibition catalog of Nudes Divins joins the libraries of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.
In 2015, the Artistocratic Gallery selected five of his works to exhibit them at the international contemporary art fairs Arte Fiera in Bologna and MIA Fair in Milan, where he was a finalist in the Codice Mia competition with Nu Divin N1. In September, the artist signs the cover of Ibrahim Maalouf Kalthoum's album with his Nu Divin N13.
After a long research work accompanied by a constant desire to surpass, Ronald unveils on the occasion of the Arte Fiera 2016 his Special Editions: Omnia Vanitas with the Artistocratic Gallery. In 2016, Ronald joined the Galerie Jean-Luc Mechiche at 182 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré for the year. From September 2 to 5, 2016, he participates in WopArt in Lugano with his new Gallery 29 Arts in Progress based in London and Milan.
