Γεννημένη στην Αθήνα ασχολήθηκε με την ζωγραφική και έδειξε την κλίση της από πολύ μικρή ηλικία.

Η πρώτη διάκριση ήρθε στην ηλικία των δέκα ετών, όταν και κατάφερε να λάβει το πρώτο βραβείο σε διαγωνισμό παιδικής ζωγραφικής. Σαν συνέπεια της διάκρισης, ακολούθησαν και άλλες συμμετοχές σε διαγωνισμούς ζωγραφικής με αρκετή επιτυχία.

Η ενασχόληση της με την τέχνη επεκτάθηκε και σε άλλες μορφές έκφρασης με κυριότερες την ζωγραφική κεραμικών,το ελεύθερο σχέδιο, στην αποτύπωση αρχαίων ελληνικών παραστάσεων, καθώς και στην χαρακτική. Τα μέσα που χρησιμοποιεί είναι κυρίως λάδι, ακρυλικά, κάρβουνο και κατασκευές μεικτής τεχνικής.

Έχει ήδη πάρει μέρος σε μεγάλο αριθμό εικαστικών εκθέσεων, ενώ απο το 2015 είναι και μέλος των Ελλήνων και Ξένων Δημιουργών (GFC). Αποτελεί ιδρυτικό μέλος της MegArt Gallery που έκανε την έναρξή της τον Ιανουάριο του 2017 και συνεπικουρεί στην επιμέλεια των εκθέσεων.
Born in Athens, artist Maria Rigatou-Ioakimidou expressed her love for art at a very early stage of her life.

At the age of ten she participates for the first time in a an art competition receiving the first prize. Following this initial success the artist took part in many more art exhibitions.

Her interest towards art expanded to several other forms including primarily ceramics, drawing, depiction of themes based in antiquity,engraving, oil painting, acrylics and other mixed techniques.

She has already participated in numerous exhibitions and in 2015 became member of Greek & Foreign Creators (GFC). She is a founding member of MegArt Gallery where she is occupied as an assistant curator.
