Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. It could also refer to a prototype or a model from which other works can be made. Each work bears great similarities to the original.

Georgia

My name is Ramaz Razmadze, I am surrealist artist from Georgia in Europe. I live in Tbilisi (capital of Georgia) downtown in a calm and green district named Saburtalo in a small apartment-studio.
I started studying oil painting at the age of 8. At the age of 20 my portfolio contained of more than 40 oil paintings and I was working as an assistant of well-known Georgian artist Makhare Janelidze (1943-1992). In fact, by that time I have already been involved in professional art as I've been assisting Makhare in processing his numerous monumental orders. I haven't entered Georgian State Academy of Fine Arts as I did not feel it would have helped me to improve my skills and, besides, I had lots of private orders (mainly copies of old masters such as Jusepe De Ribera, Bartolome Esteban Murillo, Jan Steen, Caravaggio, Frans Hals, Pieter Claesz, Salvador Dali and many others) and I did not want to waste my time. In 1991 and 1992 I had two personal exhibitions in Tbilisi, and since that time I took participation in a number of group exhibitions in Georgia, Canada and USA.

Unfortunately, due to current financial difficulties and decreased living standards of Georgian people, artworks are not much in demand. It's even more difficult to sell surreal art here as it requires certain understanding and grounding of potential buyers. That's why I exhibit and sell my oils in Canada and USA. Besides that, I am involved in illustration of poetry (including surreal) and other fiction. I am one of few modern Georgian surrealist artists maintaining realistic manner of painting, never experimenting with abstract art.
