Qafar Rzayev was born in 1993 in Ganja, Azerbaijan. After two years of undergraduate studies at Ganja State University, he quitted studying to devote his time and energy to art. Some street art and graffiti works by him started appearing on the walls on Ganja city starting from 2016; moreover, Qafar is engaged in painting, conceptual art, and graphic design.
By participating in group exhibitions organized by ARTIM by Yarat in 2016 and 2017, Qafar commenced exploring the artistic dimensions of “Shabaka”, an Azerbaijani national ornament, by keeping engaged in the research on the archaic-modern nature of Azerbaijani culture and society.
Recently, Qafar has added into his topics and practices public art as well. More specifically, he focuses on participatory projects involving communities and their collective narratives/memories. These interests have resulted
